ベニリン製品の中には、痛み、咳、下痢の治療に使われるコデインが含まれているものもある。
代表的な咳止めシロップと風邪薬のブランドは、有効成分デキストロメトルファンのベナリンDMとして数カ国で販売されている。
しかし、固形剤と液剤の両方で入手可能な製品群には、プソイドエフェドリン、パラセタモール（アセトアミノフェン）、グアイフェネシンを含む複数の成分が配合されている。
2016年、英国で販売されたブランド市販薬の中で最も売れた薬の一つであり、売上高は3680万ポンドであった。
このブランドは2008年にファイザー社からジョンソン・エンド・ジョンソン社に売却された。

かなりトロトロとしている、粘性のある液体。
飲むと喉がスーっとして気持ちいい。
薬が喉を通って行くのがわかり、ガサガサしていた喉が薬が通った場所からスッキリとしていく。
飲んだ直後から咳が止まる。
日本の市販品でこういう薬ってあるのだろうか？ワテの経験上は知らない。
病院で処方される薬感がある。
でも、飲んで2時間経たないうちに、咳が再発し出したし、喉のガサガサ感も復活した。
飲んだ瞬間から良く効くが、とりあえずの一時しのぎ感が強い。

Benylin Mucus Cough is a medicine which is used to help relieve chesty coughs.
It contains Guaifenesin (an expectorant) to help loosen mucus (phlegm) from the lungs and make it easier to cough up, and Levomenthol to help you breathe more easily by easing congestion.
The medicine is for use in adults and children aged 12 years and over.
ベニリン粘液咳止めは、胸が苦しい咳を和らげるために使用される薬です。
肺の粘液（痰）をゆるめて咳き込みやすくするグアイフェネシン（去痰剤）と、うっ血を和らげて呼吸を楽にするレボメントールが配合されています。

This medicine contains sucrose and liquid glucose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
This contains 3.49 g glucose per 5 ml. Contains 1 g of sucrose per 5 ml.
This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.

This medicinal product contains 5 vol % ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 200 mg per 5 ml, equivalent to 5 ml beer, 2 ml wine per 5 ml. This can be harmful for those suffering from alcoholism.
The ethanol content should be taken into account in pregnant or breast-feeding women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.

Do not use more than the stated dose shown.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over

Take Two 5 ml spoonfuls four times a day.
5mlのスプーン2杯を1日4回飲む。
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
24時間に4回以上服用しないこと。

If anyone has too much：飲み過ぎた場合
If anyone has too much contact a doctor or your nearest Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) taking this pack with you.

If you forget to take the medicine：薬を飲み忘れた場合
You should only take this medicine as required following the dosage instructions carefully.
If you forget to take a dose, take the next dose when needed. Do not take a double dose.

The active ingredients in 5 ml of Benylin Mucus Cough are: 100 mg Guaifenesin and 1.1 mg Levomenthol.
Other ingredients are: Sucrose, liquid glucose, ethanol, glycerol, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), Ponceau 4R (E124), caramel (E150), carbomer, raspberry essence, natural sweetness enhancer and water.
