Under the sea, a curious mermaid named Ariel longs to be part of the mysterious human world above.
海の下で、好奇心旺盛な人魚のアリエルが、神秘的な人間の世界の一部になりたいと願っていました。
Ariel rescues a drowning prince and sings to him until he wakes. Her father, King Triton, tells Ariel humans are dangerous, and forbids her from going to the surface again.
アリエルは溺れている王子を助け、彼が目覚めるまで歌い続けました。彼女の父、トリトン王はアリエルに人間は危険だと言い、再び水面に出ることを禁止しました。
But Ariel would do anything to see the prince again. She visits Ursula, the sea witch, who agrees to make Ariel human – in exchange for the princess’s voice.
しかしアリエルは王子にもう一度会うためなら何でもします。彼女は海の魔女アースラを訪ね、王女の声と引き換えにアリエルを人間にすることに同意しました。
Ariel agrees, and returns to the surface. Now she must get the prince to kinss her in three days’ time, or she will belong to Ursula…forever.
アリエルは同意し、地上に戻りました。3日以内に王子を近づけなければ、彼女はアースラのものとなります…永遠に。
Prince Eric doesn’t recognize Ariel, but he is kind to her. Even though she cannot speak, the two begin to fall in love.
エリック王子はアリエルだと気が付かなかったが、彼女に親切にしました。アリエルは話すことができませんが、二人は恋に落ちました。
Furious, Ursula transforms herself into a woman named Vanessa. She uses Ariel’s voice to cast a spell on Eric, and he asks Vanessa to marry him!
激怒したアースラはヴァネッサという女性に変身しました。彼女はアリエルの声を使ってエリックに魔法をかけ、彼はヴァネッサに結婚を申し込んだのです！
Quickly, Ariel’s friends shatter Vanessa’s enchanted necklace, breaking the spell. When Ariel speaks, Eric knows that she is his true love.
すかさずアリエルの友人たちがヴァネッサの呪いのネックレスを砕き、魔法を解きました。アリエルの言葉に、エリックは彼女が真実の愛であることを知りました。
But it’s too late! The sun sets and Ariel belongs to the sea witch. King Triton saves his daughter by giving his power to Ursula.
しかしもう遅過ぎました！日が沈み、アリエルは海の魔女のものとなります。トリトン王は自分の力をアースラに与えて娘を救おうとしました。
Now Ursula rules the ocean – but Eric does not belong to the sea. He steers an old ship right into Ursula’s side and sinks her!
今やアースラが海を支配しますーしかしエリックは海のモノではない。彼は古い船を操ってアースラの横腹に突っ込み、アースラを沈めました！
King Triton sees how much Ariel loves Eric. The king waves his trident, making Ariel human so she can live happily ever after, above the sea.
トリトン王は、アリエルがどれほどエリックを愛しているかを知りました。王は三叉の矛を振りかざし、アリエルを人間にして、海の上で幸せに暮らせるようにしました。
